7 weeks old!

Age: 7 weeks!! actually he is 8 weeks on thursday!

Weight: Our next appt is next week so we wont know until then!

Height: He was born at 19" and last he was measured was 19 1/2. So again with the 2 month update.

New developments: Nonstop smiles and borderline laughs! Cooing all the time and seriously seems like he might be trying to talk. I know i know, its way early and thats ridiculous! He has outgrown more than half of his newborn clothes already which makes me really sad..but also really excited because I cant wait for all the cool things he will start doing as he gets older!

Carters favorite things of the week: The swing! Our amazing friends Selin and Jeff gave us thier swing (one of the things we didnt buy because we have so much other gear we didnt think we would need it) and it has been AMAZING! He absolutely LOVES it and it always gets some smiles and happy times out of him!

Carters least favorite things of the week: not having milk, too small of outfits, being taken out of the bath. I swear this kid would live in the bath if we let him. I think he loves it because it mimics how he felt in my belly in the amniotic fluid and its like hes being reborn everytime we pull him out- he screams his little head off!

Smiling? YES! Non stop! He wakes up smiling which is the most adorable thing ever- but then quickly switches to crying for milk. He is now smiling back when you smile at him so I dont have to look like such a fool trying to get him to smile with my circus antics. A simple smile and HI! does the trick these days! I cant believe how much I love his little smile!

Laughing? I swear its going to happen soon! My mom, Joeys mom, Joey and I have all seen him almost laugh- its like he makes a little shriek when hes smiling really big!

First word? Better be mom or hes going back to the hospital.

Carters global travels: He lovessss true food, he also likes to tag along with mom and dad while grocery shopping (Joey and I realize this would probably be an easier task to do separately so we can just keep the babe home but for some reason we love doing all our errands together and we have decided were not going to give it up so we drag him along for the ride- he digs it!), he loves his daily run and walk with his family!

Best moment of the week: Every day waking up to my little smiley man. We are in a pretty set routine now. He wakes up around 6 am and Joey gives him a bottle and puts him back down, then he wakes back up at 9amish and I feed him. We play in bed for about an hour and its smile central (this is his fav time of day to be a happy little boy), we get up and I pump, we play some more, he naps, I feed him around 12 and then we get our day started. Joey gets home around 4 and we go for our run together and then eat dinner, feed him and put him down for the night. He is the best! I love our new little life!

LOL moment of the week: Joey drinking wayyy too much in san diego and the video I captured of him at dinner. AMAZING!

How mom and dad are feeling: Joey had to go to Dallas for work for 4 days which was super hard but a total lesson for me on how to handle the baby pretty much by myself. My mom came and stayed with me at night but I was pretty much on my own! It turned out to  be a blessing although I did have one day of tears and frustration and Joey almost boarding an early flight home! Ha! Joeys mom also came down and watched the baby so I could get my hair done which was fabulous, and made me feel like a whole new person. Although it was my first time being without Carter when there are other babies around, there was an adorable 4 month  old little boy who looked similar to carter and I seriously almost burst into tears I missed him so much. I sure hope there arent any babies in mexico or I might end up on an early flight home!

Joey and I celebrated our 2nd anniversary by a romantic getaway to San Diego and the Kimpton hotel we are obsessed with. My mom watched the baby and we had an absolute BLAST! I was worried that we would be worried about the baby the whole time but we truly enjoyed ourselves! We went to our fav bowling alley, played match the picture at our local dive bar, had margaritas at la puerta (best mexican in downtown sd) had a romantic candlelight jacuzzi and finished off with dinner at our fav spot Blue Point. We talked about where we thought we would be in 2 years from now and how much life has changed since we were dating and would come sit at la puerta and drink margaritas. We came back a little hungover and anxious (I did floor it home in the am to get home to our munchkin)to see our little guy but feeling so happy and blessed to have that time together!!

We also went out to our friends joint bachelor/bachelorette party in hollywood, had a game and hot tub night and had many dinners and lunches out with friends. We are really getting comfy with having the babe with us and comfy leaving him with my mom when appropriate. Things are really going well!!!

Looking forward to: Our life with Carter and watching him grow! Couldnt be more excited for the future!
