14 Weeks! Hello 2nd Trimester!

Today marks 14 weeks 5 days! Thrilled to be into the 2nd trimester and I wish I could say I am feeling much better but that's not quite the case yet. Butttttttttt...we did have such a fun weekend with family&friends and baby Cefalu was the main topic of conversation-as usual these days. I am definitely starting to feel and notice all the changes in my body- this little baby sure is taking over!!

How far along? 14 weeks!

Total weight gain: -3 lbs, not much has changed yet here but I have a feeling it is going to start rapidly changing soon!

Maternity clothes? still in regular clothes but jeans are definitely tighter this week!

Stretch marks? no and my mom informed this weekend that she didn't get ANY stretch marks with my brother. It wasn't until my glorious self was borne into the world that she got a few. So does that mean I am in the clear for our first baby?

Sleep:? I'm sleeping okay, same with the never ending bathroom breaks and sometimes I do wake up at 5am and my mind is racing with all the exciting things going on i.e. (what are we going to name the baby, how do I get Joey to agree to the name I like?, maybe I can sneak the name I like onto the birth certificate when Joey isn't looking and he won't be able to do anything about it......)You know,  things like that.

Best moment this week: Having my mom in town and all the fun baby stuff we did all weekend. There really is no substitute to family and my mom has been such a great support system with the pregnancy. Also, having the doctor tell us its 90% a boy! Still no guarantees, but I'd bet a pretty penny on it at this point. I was hoping we would get some better pictures from the ultrasound on Friday but unfortunately we were too focused on trying to decipher what was in between Baby Cefalu's legs ( we promise not to do this anymore once he's born) that we didn't end up getting him in a good position for a picture. The few we did take, he looks like an alien. I think Joey might have actually screamed when he saw the picture. Therefore, I still havent decided whether to stick those pictures on the blog and let everyone have a good laugh or scream of terror.

Miss Anything? I doubt a day will come when my answer doesn't include Margaritas, Bloody Mary's and Sushi. Also,we celebrated Joeys first Fathers Day with brunch at Newport Landing and champagne has never looked so good. The doctor officially said I can have a glass of champagne or a few bites of sushi now that we are in the second trimester but I am planning on saving that for the 3 weddings we have coming up.  I additionally would like to note that I miss shopping for clothes that a 16 year old would wear and thinking I might look cute in that. I think I shed a tear (or a hysterical sob ) when shopping with Steph last week and realizing that my closet will soon to be reduced to moomoo's and grannie panties.

Movement: Nah, dont think so.

Food Cravings: Bloomingdales Poached Pear and Chicken Salad is changing my life right now- I think I am consuming about 3x a week right now- if I had more time, I would be there every single day- no seriously. Really any balsamic salad is making me happy these days, as long as there is some fruit thrown in and a little stanky cheese (gorgonzola, feta, whateva you like). I could also eat sundried tomatoes for every single meal and the amount of hummus and dips in our fridge is starting to get a little awkward. Did I mention Bloomingdales salad?

Anything making you queasy or sick:  I'm not too into mexican food these days, which is weird because I normally LOVE it. I have officially thrown up In-N-Out so many times that I can't even imagine eating it anymore- which is a VERY sad borderline sickening thing to say. Meat is seeming a little funky too.

Gender: BOY MAYBE???? 90% is pretty good chances, friends.

Labor Signs: Negative.

Symptoms:  So far my throwing up episodes have been every other day at least BUT as of week 14, I am thrilled to announce that I have had my first account of throwing up every 2 days!!!! Might not sound exciting to you normal non pregnant folk out there but after you have memorized the ins and outs of every toilet in the house, and in restaurants, and in friends houses, it starts sounding pretty darn fantastic.

Belly Button in or out? This question is more and more disturbing every time I read it. Really? Does it need to pop out?

Wedding rings on or off? on. I will swallow it whole before I voluntarily take off my ring.

Happy or Moody most of the time: So very happy!! Only cranky when I'm not being fed, similar to our beagle Winston. I wouldn't put it past me to start barking if denied my food of choice.

Looking forward to: Joey's parents coming into town this weekend! Like I said, there is no substitute for family and this is the first time we have seen them since we have been pregnant! It should be a beautiful weekend and I can't wait for more baby talk, shop and fun!

Pics from our weekend below!

Dinner with Mom and Camille at The Bungalow- AMAZING food!
 Mani/pedis
3 Thirty 3's Calamari is truly life changing. So is Bloomingdales salad.
Joeys first Fathers Day brunch at Newport Landing. Champagne has never looked so good in my life.
My mom spoiling her grandson (oops , am I not supposed to say that yet?) and picking out adorable clothes!

13 weeks and counting!!!

How far along? 13 weeks!

Total weight gain: -3 lbs, but thats up 3 lbs from the 6lbs I lost from throwing up so often.

Maternity clothes? still in regular clothes but jeans are starting to get a leeeeeeettlle tight and I am definitely noticing my waist widening. UGH.

Stretch marks? no, but I am definitely investing in the Mustela cream that everyone raves about. I know, I know,
its all genetics, but you have to do what you can, right??

Sleep:? I'm sleeping okay, except I SERIOUSLY take 5 bathroom breaks every single night. Since my lazy pregnant
self gets pooped around 9:30pm these days (which Joey and Winston have had no problem adjusting to, by the way)
my first potty break is around 11pm, 2nd around 1am, 3rd around 3am, 4th around 5am and last one around 6ish. It's
pretty annoying, but it could be worse right?

Best moment this week: Well this was technically last week at the 12 week, 5 day mark BUT we had our first trimester
screening for any abnormalities, genetic disorders etc and the baby is PERFECTLY HEALTHY! I have never heard
better news in my life!!!!! Also, after promising the nurse pretty much everything short of our little peanut, I coaxed
her into taking a guess at the sex of the baby- to which she said BOY!!! She made me swear up and down that I
wouldn't tell that to a soul until it was confirmed because she really DIDNT know. But you know me, here I am
posting it on the internet for everyone to see. Side note: I think i promised her cookies for the rest of her life,
little does she know I have a husband who would throw himself in front of my car before he would let me make
a batch of cookies not for him:)

Miss Anything? Margaritas (I did have a virgin margarita at Fred's the other day, it was good enough but probably
not worth the 300+ calories)  Also, Bloody Mary's and sushi and waking up to a flat stomach. I would also like to
not be so familiar with every toilet in our house (I am still puking unfortunately, but I am told this should let up soon).
Lastly, my energy- the couch has an official Alex shaped spot to it now.

Movement: I would swear I felt something the other day but in retrospect, I am 99% sure it was gas.

Food Cravings: Still loving fruit, over the berries and mainly into plums, peaches, and nectarines. Tuna and chicken
salad has been magnificent but I know I can't have too much fish so I try not to get too wild. Subway salads I can
stomach 90% of the time.

Anything making you queasy or sick:  coffee like every other day makes me queasy, so does anything too sweet.
Chocolate ALWAYS sounds good but always ends with a barfing session.

Gender: BOY MAYBE????

Labor Signs: No

Symptoms: Heartburn got BAD this week, I'm 10 TUMS deep right now.  Haven't thrown up today but I did last night
so nausea is still going strong as is fatigue and bloating.

Belly Button in or out? in! Is it really going to pop out???????AH!

Wedding rings on or off? on and its staying that way, I don't care how swollen my fingers get (So says the pregnant girl
at 3 1/2 months, maybe revisit this at month 9)

Happy or Moody most of the time: so very happy

Looking forward to: My mom coming into town and our next doctor appointment this Friday where I will bully our
doctor into confirming the SEX!!! My mom is flying in Thursday night and staying until Monday so it will be an awesome
weekend for all us talking, walking and breathing baby. We are also planning a special Fathers day brunch for Joey since
it's his first!!

Side note: Finally got our chalkboard and I am a little embarrassed at my artwork. I promise better for week 14.

Now I am wondering if this sign is even legible.
Nothing wrong with a little outfit change! Starting to fill out..
BUT it is all worth it for the little peanut!!!

The 10 Week Mark!

Here are some pictures of us from the 10 week mark. We are almost a month past that but we took some pictures so we could see how my belly grows.

This was before we got our chalkboard so please forgive the boring sign.  Not too much of a belly here yet :)
This was pre chalkboard so we were trying to do "10 weeks" with our hands. Nailed it.

Another attempt at showing "10 weeks" but looks more like I'm going for a double high five!

Winston the older brother.

The minimal 10 week belly. Oh I miss that.
Our little peanut! The first time we actually saw our baby look like an actual baby. Yes there were tears involved.
Joey claims the peanut has huge biceps like his father. debatable.

We're having a baby!!!!

Hi everyone!!! So....I saw a ton of cute pregnancy blogs and I thought it would be fun to document this insane, exciting time of our lives and also share it with all of the family and friends who aren't nearby can get a peek into Joey and my crazy world of pregnancy!

Joey and I could not be more excited to be adding another Cefalu to the family and Winston(our beagle puppy) is thrilled to be an older brother!

Our little peanuts due date is December 13th- and since Joey's birthday is December 11th and Winston's is December 12th, December is lining up to be a pretty crazy month for the Cefalu's.

Here are some pictures from when we first discovered we were going to bring our little peanut into the world!

Me holding up 3 of the million pregnancy tests I took!

I may have overreacted and insisted on taking about a million pregnancy tests! But who said pregnancy equals sane rational decision-making? :)
